This bill requires anyone who manufactures, installs, or repairs

million in the aggregate to cover the costs of corrective action
after a fuel release. The evidence of financial responsibility
will be submitted annually to the Department of Agriculture.

FY 2009.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is the result of the

bring Missouri into compliance with the new standards. The bill
requires companies that manufacture, install, or repair fuel
storage tanks and piping to maintain financial responsibility by
February of next year to meet the federal requirements.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Vogel; Missouri Petroleum
Marketers and Convenience Store Association; and Carol Eighmey,
